the shipments of labels and tablet terminals increased by more than 20% in the first three quarters.
In November, according to the 《Global ePaper Market Analysis Quarterly Report 》released by RUNTO Technology, in the first three quarters of 2024, the global e-paper module shipments totaled 218 million pieces, a year-on-year increase of 19.8%. Among them, shipments in the third quarter reached 112 million pieces, a record high, with a year-on-year increase of 96.0%.
In terms of the two major application terminals, in the first three quarters, the global cumulative shipments of e-paper labels were 199 million pieces, a year-on-year increase of 25.2%; the global cumulative shipments of e-paper tablets were 9.484 million units, a year-on-year increase of 22.1%.
E-paper labels are the product direction with the largest shipments of e-paper modules. The insufficient demand for label terminals in the second half of 2023 seriously affected the market performance of e-paper modules. In the first quarter of 2024, the e-paper module is still in the stage of digesting inventory. From the second quarter, the shipment situation has obviously picked up. The leading module manufacturers are actively preparing for the projects planned to be implemented in the second half of the year: planning starts in April and May, material preparation and production links are carried out in June, and shipments are gradually made in July.
RUNTO Technology pointed out that at present, the business model of the e-paper label market is still oriented towards large projects, and the timing of project implementation can completely determine the trend of the module market.
